Trinamool Congress Goons Murder Congress Worker Debdeep Chatterjee in Asansol (Bengal)

Asansol (Bengal) – A Congress worker has been brutally beaten to death here. The deceased has been identified as Debdeep Chatterjee (age 43). His relatives and Congress leaders have alleged that Trinamool Congress goons brutally thrashed and murdered him.

Debdeep’s wife, Piyali Chatterjee, said, “We were returning from a birthday party around 1 AM on April 25. My husband was driving. When we reached the front of our colony, our car brushed against a motorcycle parked on the side of the road. Some local youths sitting there came and blocked our car. My husband got out of the car and began to apologize; but the youths started arguing. Since this incident happened right in front of our house, my husband said, ‘I will call local Congress leader and society secretary Prosenjit Puitandi.’ After that, the situation suddenly deteriorated. The youths started beating my husband. My son and I were pleading with folded hands to let him go; but they continued to strike him.”

Following the incident, Debdeep was immediately rushed to the hospital; however, doctors declared him dead. According to the police, further action will be taken and a case will be registered after the autopsy report arrives.

Trinamool Congress’s Hooliganism is Ongoing in Bengal! – Rahul Gandhi

Commenting on this incident on ‘X’, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, posted that the murder of Congress worker Debdeep Chatterjee by goons associated with the Trinamool Congress post-elections is extremely condemnable. “There is no democracy in Bengal today; instead, Trinamool Congress’s hooliganism is ongoing. Threatening, beating, and eliminating opposing voices to suppress them after elections has now become the character of Trinamool.” (Rahul Gandhi never once raised his voice against the murder of BJP workers. Had he done so, perhaps his own worker would not have been murdered! – Editor)

Local Congress leaders allege that those involved in the beating are close associates of Trinamool Congress Councilor Animesh Das. Responding to this, Animesh Das stated that he is out of town and has no information regarding the incident.

Editorial Perspective

Until yesterday, Trinamool Congress goons were murdering BJP workers as well as local Hindus. Now that they have started murdering Congress workers too, should this be called ‘progress’ or a shameful state of the system?
