Incidence in Mumbai Municipal Corporation !
Work stopped till Additional Commissioner arrives
Deputy Commissioner did not apologize

Mumbai – Deputy Commissioner Sandhya Nandedkar, who was sitting on the chair of the Additional Commissioner, was busy checking the mobile phone during the discussion on the budget in the BMC hall here, on which BJP corporator Pravin Chheda stopped his speech and objected sharply, saying, “Due to such behaviour, the functioning of the House is not taken seriously.” Corporators also expressed their displeasure over officials checking mobile phone in the midst of discussion over important discussion. Hence the functioning had to be adjourned. Since, Nandedkar did not apologise, deputy mayor Ghadi directed the secretariat to ask for additional commissioner to remain present in the assembly. Finally, assembly resumed the functioning after the arrival of additional commissioner Avinash Dhakane.
The BJP corporators said, “It is necessary for the officers and corporators to maintain discipline in the House. The use of mobile phones should be avoided during the ongoing discussion.” (Why this needs to be reminded ? ? Are the officers not aware of their responsibilities? – Editor)
It is mandatory for the Additional Commissioner to sit next to the Mayor and Deputy Mayor as a senior officer in the administration; But since the budget discussion continues till 12 midnight, the Additional Commissioner entrusted the temporary responsibility of sitting in the House to perform other duties.
