Won’t tolerate singular mention of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj : Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad

Slams the publisher of Com. Govind Pansare's book 'Shivaji kon hota ?'

The controversial book ‘Who was Shivaji’ written by Com. Govind Pansare and Shiv Sena MLA Mr. Sanjay Gaikwad

Buldhana – Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of Hindavi Swarajya and a revered figure for Hindus, was insulted by mentioning him singularly. Local Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad has slammed Prashant Ambi, the publisher of the book ‘Shivaji kon hota ?’ (Who was Shivaji) written 37 years ago by the late communist leader Com. Govind Pansare, over its controversial title. ‘I will not tolerate singular mention of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Those who disrespect him by mentioning him singularly should be taught a lesson in due time,’ he said. Gaikwad presented his position by broadcasting a video.

What is the matter ?

On the occasion of ‘World Book Day’, this book resurfaced. After which, Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad contacted the publisher and said ‘ tough this book was written 37 years ago, why is the Maharaj singularly mentioned in the title of the book ? Who was Govind Pansare to mention Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj singularly ? I do not need to read this book. People like you mention Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj singularly.’

Publisher Prashant Ambi replied, ‘The book was not written by me, but by Govind Pansare. It was published in the year 1988. There is no intention to insult Shivaji in this book, you should read that book first.’ However, MLA Gaikwad slapped him saying, ‘Nothing is greater than the honour of the Maharaj. We will not think of consequences to protect the honour of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.’

Congress State President Harshvardhan Sapkal upset over MLA Gaikwad’s remarks

In this matter, Congress State President Harshvardhan Sapkal criticized MLA Gaikwad. He said, “Gaikwad is defaming our District. It is serious for a public representative to use such language. He working to undermine the values of Chhatrapati Shivaji.” (This is an attempt to tarnish the image of Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad. It is an old strategy of Congress to consider a public representative who becomes aggressive for religion as ‘unfit’. How will those who abandoned the true ideology of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and worked only for votes, know the value of Maharaj’s honour ? – Editor).

Gaikwad has threatened to ‘do the same thing as done to Pansare’. Sapkal demanded that this statement be investigated. (Sapkal did not mention a word against the book, which tried to distort the history of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Why is Sapkal silent about the disrespect of Maharaj in the title of the book ? – Editor).

Will publicly read Col. Govind Pansare’s book in Buldhana : Advocate Asim Sarode

Pune – ‘We shall publicly read the controversial book ‘Shivaji kon hota ?’ written by Col. Govind Pansare in Buldhana. We’ll see what Shiv Sena MLA Sanjay Gaikwad can do,’ said Advocate Asim Sarode. He also said that he will soon file a complaint with the Police against Gaikwad.

Editorial Perspective

  • If such destructive tendencies have organized such an event to create division in society, the administration should immediately ban it to maintain law and order.
  • Hindus must unite, considering how all pseudo liberals, communists and anti-Hindus are uniting against Hindus.
