If no agreement is reached by April 22, the ceasefire will end : Trump’s threat

President of the United States, Donald Trump

Washington (USA) – U.S. President Donald Trump has threatened Iran, stating that if an agreement is not reached by this coming Wednesday (April 22), the ceasefire could end and bombing may have to resume. Speaking to reporters, Trump clarified that he might not extend the ceasefire; however, he emphasized that the blockade (on Iranian ports) would remain in place. Trump made several major claims to the media, stating that Iran has agreed never to close the Strait of Hormuz and will work with the U.S. to ship its enriched uranium out of the country.

Iran, however, has rejected Trump’s claims. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that Iran’s enriched uranium will not be sent anywhere. The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, remarked that such claims will neither help the U.S. win a war nor give them an advantage in talks. They will not find success in negotiations either.

…Then the Strait of Hormuz will not open! – Iran

Qalibaf warned that if the U.S. continues the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, the strait will not open, and permission from Iran will be mandatory to pass through. Whether the Strait of Hormuz remains open or closed, and what its rules will be, will be decided by the prevailing situation at that time, not by claims made on social media.
