Although the date and location have not yet been finalised, the talks may take place soon.

Pakistan has proposed hosting the second round of talks between the United States and Iran. Pakistani officials stated that the country has offered to organize the next meeting on its soil; however, the final decision on the venue will depend on both nations. Although the first round ended without an agreement, it is being seen as part of an ongoing diplomatic process, and efforts are being made to continue the dialogue.
Iran proposes 5-Year suspension of uranium enrichment
Disagreements persist over how long Iran should halt its nuclear program. During the talks, Iran proposed suspending uranium enrichment for five years, while the Donald Trump administration is insisting on a 20-year suspension. US officials have suggested a 20-year pause instead of a permanent ban on Iran’s nuclear facilities, allowing Iran to retain its right to produce nuclear fuel under international agreements.
Russia offers to store Iran’s enriched uranium
Russia has proposed storing Iran’s enriched uranium. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that the proposal has been made, but no concrete decision taken yet. It is being viewed as part of a potential US–Iran nuclear deal. Russia has expressed its willingness to assist in easing tensions and facilitating dialogue. It is believed that if Iran transfers its enriched uranium to Russia, it could reduce US concerns and help pave the way for an agreement.
‘Iran practising economic terrorism’ – US

US Vice President J. D. Vance accused Iran of engaging in ‘economic terrorism.’ He warned that Iran would become more dangerous if it acquires nuclear weapons and asserted that it will not be allowed to do so under any circumstances. He said Iran must give firm assurances that it will not develop nuclear weapons, which is essential for a strong agreement between the two countries.
Vance added that the US has made its conditions clear and that the next move depends on Iran. If Iran agrees, the US is prepared to treat it as a normal country. He noted that some progress was made in talks held in Islamabad, though no final agreement was reached. The US also stated that military action was halted in the hope that Iran would reopen the Strait of Hormuz and restore energy supplies.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that foreign attempts to destabilise the country have failed due to national resistance. He said the Iranian people have defeated the war imposed upon them. Iran will continue negotiations within the framework of international law. He warned that rising tensions in the Strait of Hormuz could impact the entire world. He added that an agreement is possible if the US abandons its pressure tactics and respects Iran’s rights.
“The real picture is yet to come” – Iran
In a social media post, the Iranian Consulate in Mumbai stated that “this is just a trailer; the real picture is yet to come.” The statement referred to fast missile boats in the Persian Gulf, described as capable of operating like a swarm to rapidly surround enemy targets.
China criticizes US blockade of Iranian ports
China has condemned the US blockade of Iranian ports. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said the move would further escalate tensions in the region. He warned that increased military activity and targeted blockades could affect ongoing negotiations and pose risks to vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz.
Chinese tanker crosses Strait of Hormuz despite blockade
Despite the blockade, a Chinese oil tanker has crossed the Strait of Hormuz, becoming the first vessel to do so since the restrictions were imposed. The tanker was reportedly carrying around 250,000 barrels of methanol, loaded from the UAE’s Hamriyah port.
