Why are Kashmiri Muslims, who remained silent on the Pahalgam and Pulwama attacks, now raising funds for Iran?

  • Statement by MLA T. Raja Singh from Bhagyanagar (Telangana)

  • Alleged plan to send ₹500 crore from Kashmir to Iran

Bhagyanagar (Telangana) — “When terrorists killed our tourists in Pahalgam after identifying their religion, where were you (Kashmiri Muslims)? How much did you contribute for them? When our soldiers were killed in Pulwama, you did not come forward to support their families. They were our own citizens and soldiers. Then why is there mourning in India now for events in another country?” questioned Goshamahal MLA T. Raja Singh. He raised these questions in the context of reports that some Muslims in Kashmir are collecting funds and assistance for Iran.

T. Raja Singh further stated:

1. “The United States and Israel attacked Iran, and its top religious leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, was killed. The attack happened in Iran, carried out by another country—then why is mourning being observed here?”

2. “There are reports that some Muslims in Kashmir are planning to collect ₹500 crore to send to Iran.”

3. “Our brave Indian armed forces protect us. When terrorist attacks take place and our soldiers are martyred, where does your grief go then? This is what I want to ask the Muslims of Kashmir.”

Editorial Perspective

The question is being raised as to why only T. Raja Singh is voicing this concern, while others remain silent. Does this imply acceptance of sending funds abroad instead of supporting victims within the country ?
