He brought the fiery history of Maharani Tarabai and Marathas before people

Kolhapur, Maharashtra – Dr Jaisingrao Pawar, a renowned historian, who conducted research for nearly six decades and authored books presenting fiery history of ‘Moghal- Mardini Maharani Tarabai’, Rajaram Maharaj and Senapati Santaji Ghorpade, passed away on 26.03.2026 at the age of 85.
1. ‘Chhatrapati Sambhaji : Ek Chikitsa’ is a book through which he refuted, based on proofs, all false charges against Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj.
2. Dr Pawar, representing ‘Bahujan Samaj’, wrote a biography of Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj titled ‘Rajarshi Shahunchi Gaurav Gatha’. This book has been translated in 15 Indian and 25 foreign languages.
3. He has stated that Shahu Maharaj first brought up the concept of reservations for ‘Bahujan Samaj’.
4. In 1992, he established ‘Maharashtra Itihas Prabodhini’ in Kolhapur for history studies and research, through which he drew people to and develop their interest in historical research .
5. He has left behind a legacy of 23 research papers. He has received eleven awards till now.
