In this background, an emergency meeting was called in the Saudi capital Riyadh. After the meeting, the Saudi Foreign Minister warned Iran that ‘our patience is not unlimited. Iran must listen to us. We will first try to resolve this issue through talks, but we will not hesitate to take military action if necessary.’ Iran targeted and attacked the Samref refinery in Saudi Arabia. Hence, Saudi Arabia has issued this warning.

Russian oil tanker heading to China turns to India

A Russian oil tanker, which was earlier going to China, is now diverting its route to India. The ship, named ‘Aqua Titan’, had left Russia’s Baltic Sea with oil and was supposed to go to China’s Rizhao port; but as soon as it reached the South China Sea in mid-March, it changed its route and will now reach Mangaluru on March 21st. The ship turned towards India after India suddenly increased its oil purchases from Russia. India bought an estimated 30 million barrels of oil from Russia in a week. So far, 7 Russian oil tankers are said to have diverted their route to India. In the situation created by the Iran war, Russia is now becoming a major oil supplier to India, and India is currently getting more priority than China.
