Terrorist Harish Ali, a dental college student, arrested in Moradabad

Accused of radicalising youths for the Islamic State

Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh) – The Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) of Uttar Pradesh police has recently arrested Harish Ali, a student of a dental college. He is accused of acting as a terrorist for the “Islamic State” (ISIS). Using a social media account under the name “Al-Ittihad,” he allegedly brainwashed hundreds of youths in Uttar Pradesh and incited them toward suicide attacks. Several objectionable documents were seized from him. He was also reportedly discussing the establishment of Sharia law and a Caliphate system in India.

1. Police investigations revealed that 19-year-old Harish Ali is a resident of the Maunak Mau area in Saharanpur. He was studying at a reputed dental college in Moradabad.

2. To link Muslim youths with ISIS, Harish Ali had opened a social media account called “Al-Ittihad.”

3. Through social media, he circulated content from ISIS propaganda channels such as “Dabiq” and “Al-Naba” to influence Muslim youths.

4. According to the ATS, Harish Ali had visited Jammu & Kashmir multiple times in the past two years. He had spread his network across several districts of western Uttar Pradesh, including Moradabad, Sambhal, Amroha, and Bijnor.
