Hindus Are Better Than Muslims; They Usually Marry Only Once : Famous Actress Mumtaz

Mumbai — I always say that I married a Hindu. My sister also married a Hindu, and we are very happy. Many Muslim men marry three or four times and then abandon their wives. So how can Muslims be considered better than Hindus? From this perspective, Hindus appear better. They generally marry only once. Sometimes they may marry twice, but that does not mean they easily leave one wife and go to another. That is wrong, said renowned actress Mumtaz of the 1970s in an interview to a YouTube channel. In 1974, at the peak of her successful career, she married businessman Mayur Madhvani and stopped acting in films. Speaking about her spiritual beliefs, Mumtaz said that although she is Muslim by birth, she has deep faith in Hindu deities.

Having Multiple Marriages Is a Sin

Mumtaz said that no man should marry three or four times. “I myself am a Muslim, and I say that this is wrong. How can it be right to keep one wife, then marry another, and then a third? Have you ever thought about how possessive women can be in relationships? In such relationships, each woman naturally asserts her rights. How can it be right to leave one wife and marry another? Is this not a sin?” she asked.

Special Faith in Hindu Deities

Mumtaz said that her favourite deities are Deity Shiva and Shrikrushna. “Even though I am Muslim, I have deep faith in them. Religious rituals are a part of daily life in my home. When I walk down the staircase in my house, there is an idol of Shri Ganesha there. He is my favourite, and I bow before him. I also have faith in Deity Shiva, and therefore I worship him. These are the two deities in whom I have special faith.”
