New Delhi / Tehran (Iran) / Paris (France) / Washington (USA) – The war that has been continuing in the Gulf region for the past 10 days has increased concern across the world. US President Donald Trump stated that if he and Netanyahu had not been there, Iran would have completely destroyed Israel. Iran was preparing to destroy Israel and neighbouring countries; however, we worked together and stopped that nation. I will take the decision to end this war at the appropriate time after considering all factors. This means that Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu will present his views; however, the final decision will be mine.
Increase in oil prices is a small price for maintaining global peace
In a message posted on ‘X’, Trump stated that oil prices will decline once the threat from Iran’s nuclear weapons ends completely. Even if oil prices rise for some time at present, it is a small price to pay for the security of the USA and the world. Those who think otherwise are fools, he added.

Important points presented by External Affairs Minister Dr Jaishankar
1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is closely monitoring the latest developments. The concerned ministries are coordinating to take appropriate steps. This conflict is a matter of serious concern for India. About one crore Indians live in Gulf countries. Thousands of Indian students and workers are also present in Iran.
2. This region is important for India’s energy security, as it is a major supplier of oil and gas. Disruptions in the supply chain are a serious concern. The conflict continues to escalate, which has worsened the security situation in the region. This is affecting normal life and work. India has lost two sailors in this crisis and one sailor is still missing.
3. The Indian Embassy in Tehran is assisting Indian students in moving to safer places. The embassy is functioning with full alertness and high vigilance. Indian professionals in Iran have been assisted in returning to India via Armenia. So far, about 67 thousand Indian citizens have crossed international borders to return. The Government is making every possible effort to bring Indians back.
4. At present, it is difficult to contact senior Iranian leaders. However, the Iranian Foreign Minister has thanked India. India had allowed the Iranian warship ‘IRIS Lavan’ to dock at Kochi port on humanitarian grounds, for which Iran expressed gratitude.

War driven by Iran’s oil reserves – Claim by US senator
The military action against Iran is not only to stop nuclear weapons. The USA has also been targeting Iran’s natural resources, especially its massive crude oil reserves. Just as we tried to intervene in Venezuela and gain control over its oil sector, a similar situation may arise in Iran, stated US Senator Lindsey Graham, creating a stir in global politics. |

Submarine fibre-optic internet cables lie beneath the Hormuz Strait
Transport of oil through the Hormuz Strait has been restricted. This strait is also important for internet connectivity. A network of submarine fibre-optic cables lies beneath the sea, carrying internet data from one country to another. Experts say that if conflict or disruption occurs in this region, it could affect not only oil markets but also global internet services.
Nearly one-third of India’s westbound internet traffic passes through this region. This means that a large portion of data traffic from India to foreign countries depends on this route. This traffic supports critical services such as cloud computing platforms, international banking and financial networks, digital operations of multinational companies, social media and streaming services.
Black poisonous rain falls in Tehran
After Israel’s devastating strikes on Iran’s oil refineries, a phenomenon described as “black poisonous rain” was reported in Iran’s capital Tehran. This pollution has created an emergency situation related to health and the environment in the city. Israeli attacks burned major Iranian oil reserves and refineries. Massive black smoke, ash and harmful chemicals from the fires mixed with clouds in the atmosphere. When it rained in Tehran, the rain appeared black and sticky. Experts say it contained large quantities of hydrocarbons and toxic particles. Because of this poisonous rain, residents of Tehran may suffer breathing problems, burning eyes and skin disorders. Authorities have advised citizens not to step outside their homes. There are also fears that the rain may contaminate drinking water sources and damage agriculture. This incident shows that war does not only cause human casualties but also leads to severe environmental destruction. The black rain in Tehran is being viewed as a warning bell for the global environment. |
