4 Muslim youths arrested

(“Allahu Akbar” means “Allah is great.”)

Raisen, MP – A video showing several Muslim youths firing a cannon from Raisen Fort has gone viral on social media. In the video, the youths are seen standing on the fort hill shouting slogans such as “Allahu Akbar” and “We are going to support Iran.” One of them is seen lighting the cannon with a matchstick, after which it is fired with a loud explosion, filling the surrounding area with smoke.

In connection with the incident, Raisen Kotwali Police have registered a case and arrested 4 individuals; Shadab Qureshi from Raisen, and Yusuf Sheikh, Wasim Mohammad, and Pappu alias Salman Qureshi from Bhopal.

The police took action based on a complaint filed by Brijesh Chavaria, a resident of Patel Nagar in Raisen. The complaint stated that objectionable slogans were raised in the video, which could hurt the religious sentiments of the Hindu community and disturb the city’s communal harmony.

National Human Rights Commission also raises objections

National Human Rights Commission of India member Priyank Kanoongo has questioned the incident. He stated that firing a cannon toward a residential area from a fort protected by the Archaeological Department is dangerous and could pose a threat to people’s lives. He has called for action by the Archaeological Department and the local administration in this matter.
