Muslims attacked Hindus in at least 7 places in India on the day of Holi

New Delhi – Incidents of Muslims attacking Hindus during major Hindu festivals have become frequent. Over the past few years, the number of such attacks has increased even further. The situation in the country has deteriorated to such an extent that if a festival passes anywhere in India without an attack, it would become major news. This year as well, on the occasion of Holi, attacks on Hindus by Muslims were reported from different parts of the country. At least seven incidents occurred in which Hindus were assaulted. These incidents were reported from the states of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar and Gujarat.

1. Dehradun (Uttarakhand): In Dehradun, at Lakshman Chowk in the Kotwali Nagar area, a youth named Salim attacked a Hindu woman who sells vegetables. According to the victim, Lakshmi Devi Sonkar, Salim had first purchased fruits from her. Some time later he returned, abused her verbally, threw fruits at her, slapped her, and threatened to kill her. Based on the complaint, the Police registered a case and arrested Salim.

2. Mohali (Punjab): In Mohali, a dispute occurred during Holi celebrations in the market of Mataur village in Sector 70. Ambedkarite activist Rajesh Valmiki Chauhan alleged that around 15–16 Muslims attacked him near the market close to a mosque. (What do those who raise slogans such as “Jai Bhim Jai Meem” — implying unity between neo-Buddhists and Muslims — have to say about this incident? – Editor) The attackers had sticks. Chauhan said he tried to explain that they were merely celebrating their festival and that opposing them for this was against the law and the Constitution. After this, the situation worsened. (Hindus should remember the saying “Those who understand only force cannot be persuaded by words.” In such situations, the only options before Hindus are to exercise the right of self-defence and to pressure the Police for immediate action. – Editor)

3. Tonk (Rajasthan): In Tonk, in the Sanghpura area of Old Tonk, a Muslim family returning home after offering namaz on the night of Holi got into an argument with some Hindus due to an old dispute and assaulted them. Tensions rose in the area and the situation escalated into stone-pelting. Police intervened in time and brought the situation under control.

4. Bundi (Rajasthan): In Alod village of Bundi district, Muslims objected during a Holi procession after coloured powder was thrown. They alleged that Hindus had deliberately thrown black colour on a mosque. (Such is the “tolerance” among Muslims! – Editor)

5. Mirzapur (Uttar Pradesh): In Raipur village of Mirzapur district, a person cleaning a temple and his mother were attacked. The victim, Anil Kumar Gupta, is the cow-protection chief of the Vindhyachal block of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal. Gupta was cleaning the premises of an ancient Shiv temple in the morning when some Muslims allegedly attacked him using stones, bricks, and iron rods. Gupta and his 60-year-old mother were seriously injured. (Such incidents occurring in a state governed by the BJP are not what Hindus expect! – Editor) In this case, Police registered a complaint against Angoor Ali, Hasmat Ali, Saddam Ali, Naushad Ali, and others, and arrests were made.

Gupta stated that some Muslims had been repeatedly attempting encroachment in the temple area under the pretext of house construction. Hindus had renovated the ancient temple two years ago, after which attempts to assault them had been recurring. (Can Hindus build houses near a mosque or encroach upon its land? It is due to the lack of warrior spirit and a defeatist mentality among Hindus that Muslims enter Hindu-majority areas and behave aggressively toward them. 6. Munger District (Bihar): In the Dom Tola area of Rampur Colony under Adarsh Police station in Munger district, a verbal altercation began when coloured powder being played with by Hindus fell on Muslims. The argument escalated and attempts were made to worsen the situation. When it appeared that stone-pelting might begin, a Police team reached the spot in time and prevented further escalation.

7. Bharuch (Gujarat): In Bharuch, some Hindu women who had come to offer prayers near the disputed Jama Masjid area were allegedly stopped and opposed by Muslims. Historical records state that the mosque was built on the remains of earlier Hindu and Jain temples. A video of the confrontation has also surfaced. According to members of the Sant Samaj, the site originally housed the Samali Vihar Jain temple and is also believed to be the birthplace of Chakradhar Swami.
