Chikkamagaluru (Karnataka) – In a recent incident, a gang of Muslim youths thrashed a Hindu youth over a dispute over his conversation with a Muslim girl. The police have arrested Nayaz, Tabrez and Hanif in this case. The Chikkamagaluru city police have formed teams to trace the other 5 accused from this gang who escaped.

On the afternoon of 19^th February, after leaving college, a Muslim girl was standing at Sante Maidan in the city talking to a Hindu youth of her acquaintance. Seeing this, a gang of eight Muslim youths came there and got into an argument with the Hindu youth. Scared girl ran away from the scene. Thereafter, Muslim youths inhumanly thrashed the Hindu youth. A case has been registered against them in police station. Based on the complaint police arrested three people. District Superintendent of Police Jitendra Kumar Dayama visited the police station and gathered information. He visited the police station and inquired about it. He made it clear that this kind of moral policing will not be tolerated in the city and the absconding accused will be arrested soon.
