Congress had appealed to couples a day before Valentine’s Day

Bengaluru (Karnataka) – “Do not pay heed to Hindu organisations; celebrate Valentine’s Day fearlessly,” was the culturally insensitive appeal made to young men and women by H S Manjunath Gowda, President of the State Youth Congress Committee, a day before Valentine’s Day.

According to the Supreme Court, love and the choice of a partner are fundamental rights. An individual has the freedom to love and live with a partner of their choice, without barriers of caste or religion, based on mutual consent. Therefore, any act that interferes with the rights of couples will not be tolerated, the Congress said in its press release.

Editorial Perspective

It is the Congress, which has nothing to do with Indian culture, that has led to the nation’s moral decline – and even today it continues to nurture it in this manner. Until India becomes free of the Congress, how can the country ever witness good days ?
