AR Rahman should return to the Hindu Dharma in order to get work again

Advice from bhajan singer Anup Jalota

A.R. Rahman and Anup Jalota

Mumbai – In a recent interview, music composer AR Rahman had expressed the opinion that the film ‘Chhava’ is divisive. He had also alleged that he is not getting work to compose music for films because of his religion. After criticism began against him, he tried to clarify his statement; however, the criticism has still not subsided. In this context, bhajan singer Anup Jalota has now advised Rahman to return to the Hindu religion. Rahman was earlier a Hindu and later embraced Islam.

Anup Jalota further said that if AR Rahman feels that he is not getting work because he is a Muslim, then he should become a Hindu again. By being a Hindu, he would start getting films again. According to Jalota, this was the implication of Rahman’s own statement; therefore, he is advising him to try accepting Hinduism again and then see whether he gets work or not.
