Bengaluru (Karnataka) – A survey conducted by the Congress Government in Karnataka for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections has revealed that people have strong faith in voting machines. In a survey on citizens’ knowledge, attitudes and practical experience on the topic of ‘Lok Sabha Elections 2024’, 83.61 percent of citizens said that voting machines are reliable. 5,100 people from 102 assembly constituencies in Bengaluru, Belagavi, Kalaburagi and Mysuru divisions participated in the survey. The Karnataka Government conducted the survey through the Chief Election Officer. The findings of this survey are contrary to the allegations made by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi about the voting process.

Reacting to the results, Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly R. Ashok said that the people have opposed the Congress’s stance on the voting process. This shows that the citizens have faith in the democratic process. R. Ashok also criticized the Congress Government’s decision to hold local body elections through ballot papers. He said that this decision is anti-progress. Congress only questions the institutions and processes at the time of defeat.
