Reacting to the results, Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly R. Ashok said that the people have opposed the Congress’s stance on the voting process. This shows that the citizens have faith in the democratic process. R. Ashok also criticized the Congress Government’s decision to hold local body elections through ballot papers. He said that this decision is anti-progress. Congress only questions the institutions and processes at the time of defeat.
