Some regions of Saudi Arabia Desert Witness Snowfall

Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) – On 18.12.2025, some regions of Saudi Arabian desert viz. Tabuk and Trojena Highlands witnessed snowfall with temperatures dropping sharply, touching as low as minus 4 degrees Celsius.

1. In the Tabuk region of North Saudi, there is snowfall at ‘Jabal-Al- Lawz’ i.e. Almond Mountains in Trojena hill range. The hilly region with its elevation of over 2600 metres above sea level has received such a high snowfall that the rocky valleys and sand-hills are looking like a part of European country.

2. Tourists are flocking to Trojena Highlands since it is raining in the area along with snowfall.

3. As per the information given by Saudi Arabia’s ‘National Centre for Meteorology’, the extremely cold winds coming from Mediterranean Sea are the reason for such a rare change in the weather.

4. There is a forecast of cold wave and light snowfall not only at Tabuk but also at Riyadh and Al-Qassim in the next 24 hours.
