New Delhi – The ‘VB-G Ram G’ Bill was passed in the Lok Sabha by voice vote. During this, opposition members raised slogans against the Bill. Opposition MPs tore up the bill and hurled its papers into the well of the House. This Bill has been created by modifying the earlier ‘MNREGA’ (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act). The opposition is opposing it because Mahatma Gandhi’s name has been removed.

Gandhi and Nehru names everywhere in the country!

Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said,

Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that ‘MNREGA’ was not originally named after Mahatma Gandhi. It was originally ‘NREGA’. Later, when the 2009 elections approached, the Congress remembered Mahatma Gandhi for votes and his name was added to it. How many schemes have been named after the Nehru family? As many as 55 State Government schemes were named after Rajiv Gandhi. Seventy-four roads were named after Rajiv Gandhi and 15 national parks were named after Nehru. The Congress party is obsessed with naming things after individuals.

Editorial Perspective:

The people are watching as all opposition parties along with the Congress, who speak of the so-called protection of democracy and the Constitution, are themselves making a mockery of that very democracy and Constitution.
