“Jihad is sacred, so it must be taught in schools” : Maulana Mahmood Madani

  • Maulana Mahmood Madani’s cunning agenda !

  • Also claims that the concept of jihad is being “misrepresented” !

New Delhi – Maulana Mahmood Madani, President of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, has demanded that jihad be included in school textbooks, claiming that jihad is considered sacred in Islam. He said the concept of jihad has been “wrongly portrayed” in society and that teaching it in schools would help children understand its “true meaning.” He expressed these views in an interview to the news agency IANS. Just days ago, Madani had stirred controversy by saying, “Whenever there is injustice, there will be jihad.” This statement drew widespread criticism.

Madani further said :

  • Those who oppose jihad are “traitors” and such people help spread terrorism.
  • Jihad is significant not only for Muslims but for the entire nation.
  • Committing terrorism in the name of Islam is wrong. The Delhi blast accused Umar Mohammad had called his suicide missions “acts to achieve martyrdom.” I object to this, he said.
  • Any attack on humanity carried out in the name of jihad is an attack on Islam itself.
  • When innocent people are killed in the name of jihad, it pains us because such acts tarnish the name of Islam. In truth, bringing an end to terrorism is the real jihad.

Editorial Perspectives

  • Institutions like Al-Falah have become breeding grounds for terrorists. If jihad is introduced in Indian schools and colleges, the country will end up “cultivating” terrorists, that is the truth !
  • Islam clearly defines jihad as a religious war declared against non-Muslims; however, leaders like Madani deliberately twist the meaning to mislead the public !
  • Instead of confusing the masses, Islamic leaders like Madani should explain the true meaning of jihad to jihadi terrorists and hardline Muslim extremists. This should first be taught in madarasas across India — only then will the nation benefit !
