Bhopal advocate commits suicide over a cyber crime

Threatened to falsely implicate in the Pahalgam terrorist attack

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) – It has come to light that cyber criminals have been calling people and attempting to extort money by threatening to implicate them in terrorist cases. In one such fraud case, after cyber criminals threatened to frame Shivkumar Verma, a 68-year-old advocate from Bhopal, in the Pahalgam terrorist attack, he committed suicide by hanging himself.

1. The Police found a note written by Advocate Verma. In it, he wrote that he was ending his life due to threats that his name would be linked to the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

2. He mentioned in the note that a bank account had been opened in his name, and that this account was listed in the chargesheet of the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

3. Bhopal Police Commissioner Harinarayan Mishra said that cyber fraudsters contacted Verma and tried to convince him that suspicious transactions had taken place from his bank account and that he had committed a serious crime. This frightened Verma, leading him to take the extreme step.

Editorial Perspective

Cyber criminals who financially exploit people are now using Islamic terrorism as a tool to loot them. This is extremely serious, and such criminals must be taught a lesson by the Police!
