Nashik – A large tent city will be created in Nashik for the devotees arriving for the Simhastha Kumbha Mela to be held here in 2027. For this purpose, land belonging to Khadi Gramodyog on the Nashik–Trimbakeshwar route has been earmarked. The tent-city concept will be expanded to neighbouring districts and even to the areas adjoining Nashik in Gujarat.
An online meeting was held in the presence of Tourism Department Principal Secretary Sanjay Khandare to discuss the measures required for developing this tent city. It was discussed that an exhibition centre will be established at the tent-city site. A ‘tourism cluster’ can be developed near Trimbakeshwar with the cooperation of the Forest Department. A unified plan will also be drafted for promoting both the Jyotirling and Kumbha tourism.
