Pakistan warns of installing cameras in Chinese establishments in Pakistan to stop tax evasion !

China’s objection

Islamabad (Pakistan) – Pakistan’s ‘Federal Board of Revenue’, the highest government body related to taxation, has issued a warning to Chinese enterprises in Pakistan. It has been given clear instructions to the Chinese companies to give complete information about their production or stop operating in Pakistan. Pakistan took such a tough stand on the problem of tax evasion. However, on this, representatives of 4 Chinese establishments told the organization that the management of the establishments would not allow this.

The government has claimed that Chinese tiles-making  companies in Pakistan evade tax worth about Rs 30 billion every year by showing meagre production.

Therefore, the Pakistan government  has decided to install cameras in all ceramic factories,  whether local or foreign, to monitor their production.

China’s role !

The establishment argued that if cameras were installed to monitor the product, our trade secrets would come out. However, Pakistan rejected this argument. Pakistan said that we have already given relief to Chinese investors. The number of cameras in each factory has been reduced from 16 to 5.

Editorial Perspective

Fundamentally, there must be enough deterrence to prevent tax evasion. In a country where lawlessness itself prevails, whether you install cameras or force production to take place in front of Government officials, tax evasion will still continue ! That is why these so-called measures only evoke pity for Pakistan !
