Money-laundering case linked to Dawood’s properties !(Money laundering refers to the process of converting black money into white) |

Mumbai – The Special PMLA Court of the Mumbai Sessions Court has framed charges against Nationalist Congress Party leader Nawab Malik in a money-laundering case. The next hearing has been scheduled for 19th December, and it is likely that sentencing may take place on that day. This money-laundering case is connected to properties linked to jihadi terrorist Dawood Ibrahim. Nawab Malik had been arrested in this matter in 2022, and is currently out on bail.
Nawab Malik, along with Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar, Salim Patel, Sardar Khan (an accused in the 1993 Mumbai blasts), were accused of conspiring to illegally usurp 3 acres of land belonging to one Munira Plumber at the Goawala Compound.

During the hearing, Malik’s counsel submitted that they had filed a petition before the High Court. At the previous hearing of that petition, India’s Additional Solicitor General, Anil Singh, had informed the court that the prosecution would provide all documents related to the case to the defence, and that charges would not be framed until then. Expressing displeasure, the court remarked, “How can anyone make such a statement on behalf of my bench? This is improper.”
Malik’s counsel requested that framing of charges be deferred until the High Court delivers its decision or until the public prosecutor issues a formal statement. However, the Sessions Court judge firmly stated that the High Court has given clear directions that charges must be framed within 4 weeks in any case.
