The US to supply 100 ‘Javelin’ missile systems to India

New Delhi – Even as tensions have arisen between India and the United States over import duties and trade agreements, America is set to sell missiles and artillery shells to India in a deal worth ₹775 crore. The sale includes 100 ‘Javelin’ missile systems and 216 Excalibur projectile smart artillery rounds.

Features of the ‘Javelin’ missile

The ‘Javelin’ is a portable anti-tank missile designed to destroy tanks, armoured vehicles, and bunkers. It can even be launched from the shoulder. The missile detects heat signatures and strikes targets accordingly. It has a range of 2,500 metres. It is capable of hitting targets even in smoke, dust, or adverse weather conditions.
