Pakistan once again attacks Afghanistan : Taliban retaliate

Islamabad (Pakistan) – At around 5 p.m. on 6th November, the Pakistan Army launched an attack on Afghanistan, resulting in the deaths of five individuals. According to an Afghan Army officer, the Pakistan Army deliberately targeted civilian areas. Afghanistan strongly retaliated following the assault.

The attack took place on the very day when Pakistan and Afghanistan were scheduled to hold their third round of peace talks in Türkiye. Both countries had signed a ceasefire agreement in Qatar on 19th October; however, the second round of talks in Türkiye had concluded without any agreement being signed.

Pakistan’s delegation was led by Lt Gen Asim Munir, Chief of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), while the Afghan delegation included Abdul Haq Wasiq, Chief of the Taliban Intelligence Agency, Deputy Interior Minister Rahmatullah Najib, and spokesperson Suhail Shaheen.
