India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again escaped a major assasination plot. The plot was horrendous and, once again, placed the life of India’s Prime Minister in grave danger. Some of its details are now coming to light.
The trigger was the mysterious death of Terence Arvelle Jackson, US Special Forces officer, in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Jackson was described as a military trainer visiting Bangladesh to conduct exercises with their armed forces on Saint Martin’s Island. On the same day that Prime Minister Modi was in Tianjin, China, for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit.
Jackson was part of a major plot orchestrated by the CIA, USA’s Intelligence Agency, to endanger Prime Minister Modi’s life. The plot was in fact foiled jointly by the Intelligence Agencies of Russia’s KGB and India’s RAW. It is being reported that Jackson died during the operation; at the time no news about his death was made public, nor was the cause of his death investigated. Although some investigative journalists and media outlets have begun to reveal parts of the story, when all the pieces are joined together, it will become clear over time that this was indeed a major plot.

After the SCO Summit in China, people were waiting at a hotel for Prime Minister Narendra Modi to come out. They waited a few minutes, and then many saw him and President Putin riding together in Putin’s car, talking privately while they drove around. This conversation lasted 45 minutes.
Before this, a major plot had been brewing in Bangladesh involving the CIA, assisted by Pakistan’s ISI and some senior officers in the Bangladesh Army. It is possible that its planning had been underway for several months; however, once KGB & RAW came to know the details of the plot, they moved swiftly. Jackson, who had arrived in Bangladesh, was eliminated at night. From the standpoint of diplomacy and international strategy, this is an extraordinary incident.
Russia’s role
Neither Prime Minister Narendra Modi nor the USA Government has officially explained how one of its senior officials was killed in Bangladesh. Whoever has to draw a lesson from this has done so. Put simply, this was a covert operation. Such operations are well-planned and take time to execute; meanwhile, the spies continue to work.
Even so, when an attempt is made on the life of the head of a Nation of a vast and influential country like India, it becomes a major national crisis. At such times it becomes necessary to eliminate not only the individuals who try to cause harm but the entire apparatus behind them. Prime Minister Modi received a thunderous applause at Semicon India 2025 in New Delhi, when he quipped – “Are you all clapping because I went there or because I returned ?” President Putin waiting for Prime Minister Modi, then speaking with him personally in his own car, was not an ordinary sequence of events. This incident exemplifies again that Russia is India’s true friend and it saved Prime Minister Modi’s life.
Shastri’s mysterious death
In January 1966, India’s Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri died under mysterious circumstances in Tashkent, the capital of the Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic (now Uzbekistan). Importantly, after the 1965 Indo-Pak war, the then Soviet Union acted as a mediator and ensured a peace deal, known as the ‘Tashkent Agreement’. Soon after signing it, Lal Bahadur Shastri, who had gone off to sleep, became restless and died.
The mystery surrounding Lal Bahadur Shastri’s death remains to this day. Officially, his death was attributed to a heart attack; however, his body had gone bluish, wounds were found on his neck, and most significantly, no post-mortem was conducted. Thus, the true cause of his death never came to be known. One must say that the case of such a major leader’s death was suppressed, because just 15 days later Indira Gandhi took the oath as Prime Minister. Over time, theories have pointed fingers alternately at the USA and Russian intelligence agencies. Who actually planned that plot ? Who all were involved ? For Indians, these questions remain unanswered.
The USA is definitely an enemy of India
The USA has always been untrustworthy. It betrays even its friends. There is no certainty about when, where or how the USA will make a move; because it is a superpower. There is no facility to question or negotiate its actions. The USA will go to any lengths, from organising plots to eliminating persons and countries that threaten its interests, to engineering regime change to installing leaders friendly to its designs.
A recent example is the removal of Sheikh Hasina’s Government in Bangladesh and the rise to power of Yunus. Former US President John F Kennedy’s assassination was carried out by the CIA. Robert Crowley, a leading CIA figure in the 1960s, admitted involvement in conspiracies concerning the deaths of Prime Minister Shastri and Dr Homi Bhabha (the father of India’s atomic programme). This shows that the USA will not tolerate anyone or anything that stands in the way of its international interests, regardless of how talented or important that person is. It would not be an exaggeration to say that this is a part of USA’s foreign policy.
To keep its world dominance intact, the USA foments conflicts in countries, arms Pakistan to allow terror acts in India; the USA first supports terrorists such as Osama bin Laden to fight Russia and then eliminates him when he becomes harms its interests. Can the USA, which can stoop to any level, ever be India’s friend ? India must therefore stay vigilant.
