
Dhaka (Bangladesh) – A 42-year-old Hindu man, Subrata Chandra Das, was brutally murdered in the Subarnachar sub-district of Noakhali, Bangladesh.
According to reports, Subrata Chandra Das was on his way to pick up his wife, Rikta Rani Das, from her workplace when the attack occurred. Rikta Rani Das works as a Field Inspector at the Char Jabbar Union Health and Family Welfare Centre. During his journey, unidentified assailants intercepted him, slit his throat with sharp weapons, and fled the scene.

Local villagers suspect that Islamic jihadi groups were behind the murder, as the method of killing resembled the brutal executions carried out by the Islamic State. Minority leaders and human rights organisations have strongly condemned the incident and demanded strict action against the perpetrators.
