Chennai (Tamil Nadu) – “The Supreme Court’s verdict in the Ayodhya dispute was accepted by all sections of society, and that is why peace prevailed across the country after the judgment,” said former Supreme Court judge L. Nageswara Rao. He was speaking at the launch of the book Case for Ram: The Untold Story of the Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi–Babri Masjid Dispute, authored by Anirudh Sharma and Sridhar Potaraju.

Justice Rao said this was one of the most important cases in India’s history. “The entire nation was anxiously waiting for the verdict. People were not as worried about the decision itself as they were about what might happen afterwards. Yet, after the judgment, there was no violence anywhere. Everyone accepted the decision. This reflects the maturity of Indian society,” he stated.
⚖️ “Ayodhya Judgment was accepted by all – that’s why there was no breach of peace,” said Justice Nageswara Rao.

He made a special mention of senior advocate K. Parasaran, saying, “Shri Parasaran once said that he fought this case on behalf of Shriram. Throughout the proceedings, he never displayed hatred toward the opposing side and always treated other lawyers with respect. Maintaining goodwill outside the courtroom is a beautiful tradition of Sanatan Dharma.”

Justice Rao added that both judges and lawyers should avoid speaking publicly about ongoing or decided cases. “Parasaran never gave media interviews. Lawyers should speak only in court, and judges should speak only through their judgments,” he said.
