Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Diwali greetings to Hindus come with an appeal

Islamabad (Pakistan) – On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, I extend my heartfelt greetings to the Hindu community in Pakistan and around the world. As our homes and hearts are illuminated by the light of Diwali, may this festival drive away darkness, foster harmony, and guide us toward a future of peace and prosperity, said Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in a post on ‘X’. Notably, he avoided mentioning India in his message.
Sharif further wrote that societies today face challenges such as inequality and intolerance, but the spirit of Diwali – symbolising the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and hope over despair – should inspire us to overcome them. He urged everyone to work together so that every citizen, regardless of religion or background, may live peacefully and participate equally in efforts toward progress.
Editorial PerspectiveFor this, it is not Hindus but fanatic Muslims in Pakistan and across the world who must take the initiative. Only then will true peace prevail globally ! |
