Molestation Case Registered Against Two at ‘Adhyatmik Warkari Gurukul’ in Lote (Ratnagiri District)

Ratnagiri — A case of molestation has been registered at the Khed Police Station against H.B.P. Bhagwan Maharaj Kokare and his associate Pritesh Prabhakar Kadam in connection with an incident involving a minor girl at the ‘Adhyatmik Warkari Nivasi Gurukul’ in Lote, Ratnagiri district.

According to the police, the girl had been residing at the Gurukul for spiritual education over the past few months. During this period, Bhagwan Maharaj Kokare allegedly behaved in an obscene manner with her and molested her, causing mental trauma and shame. The girl reportedly informed a Gurukul member about the incident. However, the member tried to silence her by saying, “Do not speak of this to anyone. Maharaj has social and political connections. If you say anything, your reputation and your family’s image will be tarnished,” as noted in her complaint.

A conspiracy to oust Maharaj in order to shut down the cowshed

“We have been running a cowshed here for the past 17 years. Many individuals and even political forces have repeatedly tried to shut it down. When they failed to eliminate the cowshed, they resorted to targeting Maharaj himself by falsely accusing him of molestation,” said Mrs. Kokare, wife of H.B.P. Bhagwan Maharaj Kokare.

She further stated, “Since last year, we have also been running this Gurukul to impart spiritual education to children. Everything was going smoothly for the first six months. Suddenly, this allegation emerges. It’s clearly a ploy to destroy Maharaj’s credibility so they can eventually shut the cowshed. There is no truth in this accusation. That girl is actually very good. You may inquire with all the other children here. Nothing of this sort has happened. This is a political conspiracy to trap Maharaj.”
