Hindu youth in Pakistan, eating at a dhaba brutally beaten up by Muslims

Islamabad, Pakistan – A Hindu youth named Daulat Bagri was brutally beaten in the city of Kotri in Sindh province of Pakistan for eating at a dhaba. Daulat Bagri had gone to a dhaba for lunch around noon. Then the owner of the dhaba and some people objected to a Hindu eating there. Later, they tied his hands and feet and beat him brutally. They looted his 60 thousand rupees.

The video of this incident was circulated on social media, in which a youth appears tied up with a rope and beaten.

1. Many people in Pakistan expressed anger over this. As the dispute escalated, the Kotri police registered a case against 7 accused on the complaint of Daulat Bagri. The owner of the dhaba and the locals are the accused.

2. No one has been arrested despite a case being registered. This raises questions about the police failing to perform their duty. (What else can we expect from the police in Pakistan ? – Editor).

3. Bagri filed a petition in the Jamshoro District and Sessions Court alleging that ‘the Superintendent of Police and the head of the police station were not taking action against the criminals’. After this petition, the police registered a case.

4. Human rights activist Dr Sharma criticised the Pakistan Government and said that the United  Nations Human Rights Commission should immediately intervene in this matter so that the safety of the Hindu minority living in Pakistan is ensured.

Editorial Perspective

When Hindus in Pakistan are suffering as if in hell, why are the human rights commissions around the world not raising their voices for their rights ?
