Russia bans ‘International Satanic Movement’

MOSCOW (Russia) – Russia has banned the ‘International Satanic Movements’, which will allow the government to freeze the assets of individuals associated with this group even if they are not criminally prosecuted.

In July, Russia’s Supreme Court designated the International Satanic Movement, a –‘terrorist’ group. The group was accused of insulting the Orthodox Christian Church and spreading hatred. “This movement is linked to extreme nationalism and neo-Nazi tendencies,” said the Attorney General of Russia at the time.

Father Kirill, head of the Orthodox Church in Russia, supported the ban, accusing it of ‘satanic rituals and deceiving young people and lure them to them’.

What is Satanism ?
