Tonk (Rajasthan) – Hindu girl harassed and threatened with forced religious conversion

  • Tutoring center vandalized after protest

  • Locals demand strict police action against culprits

Tonk (Rajasthan): A case has come to light where five Muslim youths harassed a minor Hindu student at a coaching center and pressured her to marry one of them and convert to Islam.

On September 26, the accused reportedly entered the coaching center and threatened the girl, saying, “We will kidnap you and forcibly convert you. If you refuse, we will throw acid on your face.”

When the coaching center director opposed this harassment, the accused called in their associates, who then stormed into the premises, vandalized the property, and attacked staff members.

Based on the complaint filed by the victim, police have registered a case against the accused and launched an investigation.

1.  According to the victim’s complaint, for the past month, five Muslim youths — Aamir Mewati, Tahir Mewati, Rahil Mewati, Hamid Mewati, and another unidentified person — had been following her, blocking her path, harassing her, and issuing threats.

2. Distressed by the repeated harassment, the Hindu student had called the “1098” Child Helpline to lodge a complaint. She had also informed the director of the coaching center about the entire situation.

3.  After the video of the vandalism at the coaching center went viral, anger spread across the city. Local BJP leaders and representatives of Hindu organizations rushed to the spot and demanded the immediate arrest of the accused.
