The bank tries to give the message about its attractive offers from Navratri till Christmas

New Delhi – Axis Bank, one of India’s leading banks, has tried to Christianize the Hindu festival of Navratri. In a reel posted on its social media account, the bank has shown Santa Claus in a Dandiya programme. The Santa Claus holds Dandiya sticks in his hands. The bank is trying to give the message that Axis Bank’s offers will continue from Navratri till Christmas. The reel is being widely opposed by Hindus. However, the bank has not yet given any statement.

Some reactions

1. If Axis Bank does not stop this disrespect to Navratri festival, I will close my 4 accounts in the bank : Sanjay Dixit, former administrative officer and founder of the pro-Hindu organization ‘The Jaipur Dialogues’

2. What kind of joke is this ? Learn to live within your limits. Don’t exploit our festivals for your own benefit : Ritu Priya

3. Can such an advertisement be made during Eid or about Muslims ? : Vaishali Mishra

Editorial Perspectives

  • Axis Bank should be condemned for insulting Hindu Dharma. Hindus are the majority among the crores of account holders of this Indian bank. Therefore, Hindus should now demand an answer for this advertisement.
  • This is a kind of secularization of Hindu festivals. Hardline Christians never eat the prasad during Hindu festivals. Then why doesn’t the bank show the courage to depict Santa Claus eating the prasad of the Goddess during Navratri ?
