New York (USA) – US Energy Secretary Chris Wright advised India to consider other options instead of buying oil from Russia. He was speaking at an event in New York.
Wright further said, “Nobody wants to buy oil from Russia; that’s why Russia is selling oil at a cheap price. India decided to buy oil from Russia for its own benefit; but the money it gets is causing the deaths of thousands of people. China, India and Turkey are buying large amounts of oil from Russia and through that, they are indirectly funding Russia’s war against Ukraine. None of us want war; that’s why we are advising India to buy oil from other countries. We also have plenty of oil to sell, so we are asking India to buy oil from us.”
