“How sinful must be those who have no eyes” : Samajwadi Party MP Chandrashekhar Azad

Derogatory remark by Samajwadi Party MP Chandrashekhar Azad against Jagadguru Rambhadracharya

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh): Without directly naming him, Samajwadi Party leader and Nagina MP Chandrashekhar Azad made a derogatory comment against Jagadguru Rambhadracharya, saying, “How sinful must be those who have no eyes !”

At a rally held in Bareilly on September 17, Chandrashekhar spoke without directly naming Jagadguru Rambhadracharya. He said that a saint has neither caste nor religion — a saint belongs to everyone. He added that the city of Meerut is historically tied to the First War of Independence of 1857; therefore, inappropriately referring to that land is unacceptable.

Chandrashekhar further remarked, “I have heard that he has been blind since childhood. We often hear that people reap the fruits of their deeds from past lives. Then what terrible sins must he have committed in his previous birth that nature did not even give him eyes? How grave must his sins be! And yet people are taking knowledge from such a criminal !”

What is the issue ?

A few days earlier, during a Ramkatha event in Meerut, Jagadguru Rambhadracharya had described western Uttar Pradesh as a “mini Pakistan.” He had said: “Today Hindus are facing a huge crisis. Coming here feels like entering a small Pakistan.”

Editorial Perspective

This reflects the anti-Hindu mindset of the Samajwadi Party. Hindus will certainly end the political existence of a party that harbors people who stoop so low as to insult Hindu deities, scriptures, and saints !
