Texas State in the US bans all Sharia laws

Governor acts after Imam told shops not to sell ‘alcohol’ and ‘pork’ !

Houston (USA) – On 8^th September, Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced a ban on all Sharia laws. Back in 2010, the US had decided to nullify Sharia-based laws at the state level. Under this policy, Texas has now become the 18^th State out of 50 to implement the ban. The move followed the widespread circulation of a video from Houston, in which an Imam was seen using a loudspeaker to order shopkeepers not to sell alcohol, pork, or lottery tickets, since such things are considered haram (forbidden) in Islam.

Commenting on this, Abbott said, ‘I signed laws that BAN Sharia Law and Sharia Compounds in Texas. No business & no individual should fear fools like this. If this person, or ANYONE, attempts to impose Sharia compliance, report it to local law enforcement or the Texas Dept. of Public Safety (sic)’. Abbott posted this on X on 9^th September (IST).
