This is not an era of war !

New York (USA) – At the United Nations, India reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s position that “this is not an era of war.” India’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Parvathaneni Harish, stated that India is deeply concerned about the situation in Ukraine.

He emphasized that the loss of innocent lives is unacceptable and reiterated India’s firm belief that no solution can be found on the battlefield. No matter how complex the conflict in Ukraine may appear, it can only be resolved through dialogue and diplomatic efforts — a point India has consistently stressed.

India also appreciated last month’s meetings — the Trump-Putin summit in Alaska, as well as the meetings in Washington between President Zelensky, Trump, and European leaders.

1.  Just a few hours before India’s statement at the UN General Assembly, Prime Minister Modi held discussions with European Council President Antonio Costa and Ursula von der Leyen. The Prime Minister posted on X that they exchanged views on matters of mutual interest as well as on efforts to end the conflict in Ukraine at the earliest.

2.  External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar also held talks with Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
