Indore (Madhya Pradesh) – The Sarvajana Ganeshotsav Mandal installed a Shri Ganesh idol at Kalaigar Road in Ratlam. On that occasion, the members of the Mandal put up saffron flags on the pillars in the area. Muslims objected and put green flags near the saffron flags. At that time, Hindus and Muslims came face to face, creating a tense environment in the area. The tension lasted for two hours from 3 pm to 5 pm. At that time, office bearers of Hindu organisations reached the spot in large numbers. Police were deployed to prevent any untoward incidents. The police clarified that only saffron flags would be allowed where the Shri Ganesh idol had been installed. They managed to maintain law and order in that area.
