9 Idols of Deity Hanuman Stolen in a Single Day in Fiji !

Suva (Fiji) – On August 22, nine idols of Deity Hanuman were stolen in a single day from the Nadi and Korosiri regions of Fiji, an island nation in the Pacific Ocean. Some idols were taken from homes, while others were stolen from temples. Police have confirmed all these incidents and a special team has been deployed to trace the suspects.

In recent times, there have been multiple attacks on Hindu temples and religious symbols, which has caused anger among the Hindu community in Fiji. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of Fiji is currently on a visit to India. The World Hindu Federation (Pacific) has urged Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to raise this issue with the Fijian Prime Minister.

Dr. Sunil Kumar, President of the organization, stated that the theft of Shivlingas and idols of deities from temples and homes, along with the rising attacks on Hindus, is a matter of grave concern. Despite repeated condemnations, such incidents continue to rise. He urged Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka to take a clear stance on the security of the Hindu minority. Immediate and concrete steps must be taken to ensure the protection of all religious communities and uphold the values of peace, mutual respect, and dignity for all.

Warning from Acting Deputy Prime Minister

Fiji’s Deputy Prime Minister, Manoa Kamikamica, strongly condemned the desecration of religious sites across the country while speaking at a Hindu Unity gathering. He assured the Hindu community that the government is committed to uniting all citizens and safeguarding their right to worship.
