New Delhi – India has got a stronger presence in the Indian Ocean. Nilgiri-class stealth frigates INS Himgiri and INS Udaygiri were commissioned simultaneously at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, in a ceremony presided over by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday. Defence Minister said that it is the first time that two frigates/ warships, built at different Shipbuilding Companies are being commissioned at the same time. This has increased Indian Navy’s war readiness. These are completely indigenously built warships. The two frigates patrolling the Indian Ocean will increase the Nation’s defence capabilities.
