In United Nations Security Council, India admonishes Pakistan for sexual oppression

New York (USA) – India once again admonishes Pakistan in the UN security council conference. During the debate on sexual oppression, India’s representative Punnoose gave information about sexual violence taking place in Pakistan from 1971. He said that the Pakistan army hideously sexually oppressed thousands of women in east Pakistan at that time. It is a shameful part of history. These immoral things are still happening quite recklessly even now.
Punnoose further stated –
1. In the recently published report of the UN Human Rights Commission, there are detailed news and descriptions about how thousands of women and girls were used for religious and racial oppression of the minorities through their kidnappings, smuggling, child marriages, forced marriages, sexual oppression, conversion, etc.
2. It has been stated in the report that their judicial system also approves of such hideous acts. It is a paradox that those who committed such crimes are now posing as the protectors of justice. It shows their double standards and hypocrisy; therefore, those who committed such grave crimes must be punished.
3. Sexual oppression not only destroys the life of one person but it also destroys the social thread and leaves scars on communities for many generations.
Editorial PerspectiveIt is a fact that nobody punished Pakistan Army for such crimes. |
