Over 1,000 Nationalists attend special conference on “Growing Urban Naxalism and the National Security Act” in Pune

Congress is the true originator of the Urban Naxal problem! – Madhav Bhandari, senior BJP leader and spokesperson

Pune, August 20th – History records that in 1942, communists joined hands with the British to sabotage India’s freedom struggle. After Independence, then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru legitimised such collaborators. Whether it was the Naxalite movement in Bengal or the Khalistani issue in Punjab, Congress never made a sincere attempt to resolve them. Today, the real creator of the urban Naxal problem India faces is none other than Congress, asserted senior BJP leader and spokesperson Shri. Madhav Bhandari.

He was addressing a special conference on “Rising Urban Naxalism and the National Security Act”, organised on August 19th by the Rashtrabhakta Adhivakta Samiti at Tilak Smarak Mandir in Pune.

Other distinguished participants included Shri. Abhijit Jog (author of Asatyamev Jayate and Davi Valvi), Adv. Virendra Ichalkaranjikar (President, Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad), Shri. Sunil Ghanwat (State Coordinator for Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti), Shri. Vikram Bhave (writer-thinker) and senior journalist Shri. Prasad Kathe. Over 1000 nationalists from across Maharashtra, including scholars, Hindu activists, and devout citizens, attended the event.

The session began with an introduction by Shri. Satish Kocharekar of Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, while Shri. Chaitanya Tagade conducted proceedings.

Shri. Madhav Bhandari further stated;

For years, I have witnessed the hypocrisy of leftists and communists. They never act honestly. Many keep shrines at home, worship privately, yet publicly criticise Hinduism and its deities.

Once confined to villages and forests, Naxalism has now become more dangerous, spreading into urban intellectual circles.

This “intellectual violence” makes it essential to strengthen the National Security Act.

“Destroying institutions that shape the human mind is the Leftist agenda” – Abhijit Jog, noted author

Educational institutions, the cinema, family structure, caste divisions, and misleading youth are all systematically targeted. Leftists thrive on creating chaos: rich vs. poor, male vs. female, and continuous social conflicts. Their relentless assault on Indian culture means this must be fought ideologically, by rooting society in national and cultural consciousness.

“The scope of the National Security Act must be expanded, with stricter provisions and punishments” – Adv. Virendra Ichalkaranjikar, President, Hindu Vidhidnya Parishad

He stressed that beyond legislation, society’s mindset must change. Hindus must work with faith in Dharma and God, exposing opponents’ conspiracies without falling into their traps. Vigilance is essential, and strengthening the NSA with stricter clauses is the need of the hour.

“Hindus must build an organised ecosystem to fight Naxalism.” – Mr Sunil Ghanwat, Hindu Janajagruti Samiti

He highlighted financial scams in the Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti (ANS) and revealed how it had received foreign funding despite earlier denials. Had Dr. Narendra Dabholkar been alive, these irregularities would have landed him in prison.

Just as Naxals have built intellectual, financial, and legal support systems, Hindus too must establish their ideological ecosystem. He also criticized the hypocrisy of certain Leftist writers and actors who returned their awards but not the monetary benefits.

“Hindus must awaken; there is no substitute for Hindu culture” – Mr Prasad Kathe, Senior Journalist

Other religions have countries to support them; Hindus have only Bharat. With such ancestral sacrifices behind us, vigilance is non-negotiable.

“Hindutva is the very essence of our culture.” – Mr Vikram Bhave, Writer

He recalled how ANS activists would question schoolchildren about the Hindu faith while never challenging other religions. During imprisonment, he saw urban Naxals spreading poison against Indian culture within jails. He emphasised that Hindus must stand united in this ideological battle.

“Just as a ‘Constitution Procession’ is taken out during the Wari pilgrimage, a similar Constitution Dindi should also be carried out in the Tābut (Tazia) procession!” – Appeal made at the conference

(The Tābut or Tazia is a replica of the mausoleum of Imam Hussain. In the procession, it is created in various forms and sizes and carried by hand.)

Mr Abhijit Jog urged Leftists to replicate their “Constitution Dindi” stunt, done during Hindu pilgrimages, in Muslim Tazia processions as well. Madhav Bhandari seconded the appeal.

The audience responded to the speakers’ addresses with spontaneous applause!

Despite heavy rain and traffic disruption in Pune, the hall was packed, with some nationalists standing throughout the program. Speeches exposing Leftist hypocrisy received repeated applause and slogans of “Jai Shri Ram” and “Jayatu Jayatu Hindu Rashtra.”

The Leftist does not even consider India a ‘nation’! – Shri. Madhav Bhandari

Referring to charge sheets against urban Naxals in the Bhima-Koregaon case, Bhandari said, “For the Left, India is not even a nation; their ideological idol is Mao of China.”

Unprecedented response from Puneites to the conference despite continuous rain since morning!

It had been raining in Pune for the past 2 days, and on the day of the conference, heavy showers lashed the city since morning. Several roads were waterlogged, causing traffic congestion. Yet, Punekars turned up in large numbers, giving the event an overwhelming response. By the end of the conference, the hall was packed to capacity, with some patriots even standing to listen to the proceedings.

Dignitaries present – The event was graced by Dr. Nilesh Lonkar (Veer Savarkar Yuva Manch), Pujya Jadhav Maharaj (Dattagad Devasthan, Bhongavali), Vijay Majire (Swambhu Shri Rameshwar Devasthan Trust, Bhukum), animal welfare officer Rahul Kadam, historian Ritwik Kulkarni, BJP city secretary Priyanka Shedge, Hindutva activist Sameer Kulkarni (acquitted in the Malegaon case), Vinayak Sansas (Pratapgad Utsav Samiti), Datta Pokale (VHP), senior police officer Prakash Londhe, saints and trustees of various Hindu temples, and representatives from Hindu organizations across Maharashtra.
