Observance of Partition Horror Remembrance Day’

New Delhi – Partition is the day of remembering sacrifices, pain and grit of countless Indians, stated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his X account in the background of ‘Partition Horror Remembrance Day’. The Modi Government started to observe this day as the ‘Partition Horror Remembrance Day’ from 14.08.2021 to remember the people who lost their lives during the partition.

The PM stated further, “India is observing this day as ‘Partition Horror Remembrance Day’. India remembers the pain of countless Indians in this tragic chapter of Indian history. It is also the day to honour their grit, their ability to face unimaginable loss and still find the strength to start afresh. This day also reminds us, our country, the responsibility to strengthen the bonds of harmony  that hold our country together.

On the occasion of the ‘Partition Horror Remembrance Day’, the Central Home Minister Amit Shah posted on ‘X’ that ‘It is the day to remember the pain of those who suffered due to the partition of the country. On this day, Congress divided this country into pieces, hurting the pride of Bharat Mata. Partition led to violence exploitation and oppression, besides displacing billions of people. This country will never forget the history of partition and the pain. I pay homage to those who lost their lives in the horrible tragedy of partition.
