Pakistan : Citizens celebrated Independence Day by firing in the air

Islamabad (Pakistan) – In Pakistan while celebrating the Independence Day the citizens celebrated by firing in the air; in this careless firing in various place three citizens of Pakistan were killed, and 64 have been injured. An eight-year-old girl in one of those died in this shooting. It is traditional in Pakistan to celebrate a happy occasion by firing in the air. The Police said that incidence of firing in the air took place in many places like Liyakatabad, Korangi, Liyari, and many other places. An innocent girl was shot in Ajijabad, while in Korangi a youth named Stefan died. The injured have been admitted in hospitals. More than 20 persons have been arrested in this matter, and modern weapons and ammunition has been confiscated from them.

In 2024 95 persons were injured in a similar firing, while in 2023, 80 persons were injured. On the 1^st of January in Karachi during the new year celebrations 29 individuals were injured in the firing.
