Sariful Islam, earning crores of rupees in cybercrimes, arrested

Kolkata (Bengal) – Assam Police arrested Sariful Islam, the mastermind of cybercrime, from Kolkata. He was on the run for the last one and a half years. He was defrauding crores of rupees by luring people in online networks. Cyber fraud cases have been registered against him in at least 12 states.

Morigaon police in Assam arrested him from Kolkata on August 8. Police recently said that he was hiding there and committing online fraud in various states. 20 bank accounts, 16 PAN cards, and some illegal SIM cards have been seized from Sariful. He had acquired land in Assam with the fraudulent earnings. The police have confiscated the same.
