Mumbai – The Maharashtra government has granted the status of “State Mother” to Goumata, but the official protocol regarding this has not yet been declared. Until such a protocol is announced, the title will remain only on paper.

Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand of Jyotish Peeth, in a press conference held on August 3, urged the Maharashtra government to declare the official state protocol and code of conduct regarding Goumata within one month.

On the occasion of Chaturmas, Swami Avimukteshwaranand organized a two-day “Gou Sansad” (Cow Parliament) in Borivali, Mumbai. During a press briefing at the event, he made the above demands.

To advocate for Goumata to be declared the National Mother, the Go Sansad will function parallel to the Indian Parliament. Through this initiative, one “Rama Godham” will be established in every legislative constituency.
Each Rama Godham will house 108 Goumatas, where the cows will reside happily, providing not only milk but also blessings. These sanctuaries will symbolize the progress of the nation and help Sanatan Dharma regain stability.

Projects to establish Rama Godhams will also be initiated in various parts of Maharashtra. According to Swami Avimukteshwaranand, a total of 4,123 Rama Godhams will be set up across Maharashtra and the country.

Editorial Perspective

While efforts are being made for the preservation of Goumata (the sacred cow), Hindus expect the government to also launch a concrete campaign to stop cow smuggling.
