Racist criticism over appointment of Indian-origin woman as Solicitor General of the state of Ohio (USA)

Ohio (USA) – Indian-American lawyer Mathura Sreedharan has been appointed as Ohio’s 12^th Solicitor General; however, she is facing racist criticism on social media. She is being questioned for being American and is also being targeted for the bindi on her forehead.

1. One person said, “Are they Christian? That’s the biggest concern for me. Looking at the bindi on their forehead, I’m worried that they’re not American. That should be important to us when we choose our leaders.”

2. Another said that, another American job was given to foreigners.

3. Another said, “They are Indians. They all have a first loyalty to other Indians. Terrible choice. The American Republican Party is pathetic.”
