Ahmedabad (Gujarat) – Shama Parveen (30 yrs), a female terrorist from Al Queda group has been arrested from Hebbal, Bengaluru, by Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad. On 23rd July, the same team had arrested 4 terrorists from UP, Delhi and Gujarat. Shama’s name was revealed while these 4 were being interrogated. Shama Parveen’s arrest shows that these terrorist organisations are now involving women in terrorist activities. “The woman arrested was in direct contact with Pakistan,” informed Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi. The Deputy Inspector General of the investigating team, Sunil Joshi said, “Parveen got involved with Al Qaeda through social media. She was given the responsibility of involving youth in anti-India activities. Currently she is being interrogated to know about other terrorists in the group and their conspiracies.
Spreading Ghazwa-E-Hind (war for Islamisation of Bharat) ideology
The arrested terrorists were spreading the messages of Ghazwa-E-Hind on Instagram. Parveen was targeting Indian youth by misleading reasoning to drag them into the stream of Al-Qaeda. They had planned large-scale violence. Parveen had 5 Instagram accounts to spread Jihadi ideology. She was encouraging youth to have Jihadi ideology. She was provoking the youth by giving an easy alternative to violence, “for Jihad, bomb is not needed, only a knife will serve the purpose.” Her Instagram account is being investigated thoroughly.
Investigation is underway to find out how many young boys have contacted her so far.
